Don’s InfoNode is a mainly a news site,
with discussions about current events
posted by anyone who chooses to become
a member.
Some of the web log entries were
confusing, and perhaps should have been
a part of another page or at least
organized under different topics.
There were a few random posts by Don
about the site stats which did not fit
with the predominantly news-related
posts. Most posts would link to a news
article, and then Don and other site
members would respond.
I liked the premise upon which Don’s
InfoNode is based: a forum for people
to discuss current events, debate
topics, and state their opinions, among
other things. However, I was left
thinking the format was not conducive
to smooth conversation. Perhaps a
bulletin-board style forum would better
suit the converstaions of varying
topics.
The design of the site was simple and
basic, as an informational site should
be, though various sections were not
well defined, and seemed to bleed
together. Also, even at 1024×768,
horizontal scrolling was necessary – a
pet peeve of mine.
In general, I found San Diego Don’s
InfoNode a decent site for news and
discussion. Peeling away the iffy
layout and organization will leave you
looking at a good idea that seems to be
on the way to a great site.San Diego Don’s InfoNode
