This weblog introduces itself as “Just another weblog about unique and unusual gifts”. The geek in me was instantly excited about reading and reviewing this site.

The first post I read was, well, scary. It talks about giving a blog as a gift. Personally, I cannot figure out what to get my dad for Christmas. The thought of him with a blog is what scares me! It is actually a fun post and a great way to get this site up and running.

If it were not five days until my family celebrates the holiday season, there are several things linked on this site that I may have ended up buying. From remote control tarantulas to a pocketknife for women, there is something unique and different here for everyone. There were several times when I got distracted from the site itself after following the links to other sites the author provides.

The site uses WordPress as its blogging tool of choice. The design is a slightly modified template, but it has changed enough to not scream PREPACKAGED DESIGN to the average reader. The posts are neatly written in black text on a white background, often with pictures of the particular gadget/gift featured in the post. It is very simple to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for when browsing through this site. The about section explains where the name of the site – Kadomu – comes from. Along the sidebar, there is even a place for readers to suggest links.

The entries are not only listed by date, but also by category. If you are in a hurry and need a gift idea that is only going to be suitable for a kid, this is a great tool to have.

Kadomu has only been around for a month, which is all too unfortunate. I have bookmarked this site, though, because I am always on the hunt for a unique gift and this is just the place to find one for me.

The “About Kadomu” portion of the site says: “We love to spend our time to search for nice things in the internet and share it with you”. I love that they do this, too. In addition, quite honestly, I think any true geek will love it just as much.
