Coloured Glass is a striking website. Although I’m not into anime myself, I have many friends who are and have quite an appreciation of it. Anther plus is the fact that is an Australian website. Ever since I was a child my dream vacation would be to go there. And stay. The photos and stories I have heard and seen from people who have been there are extraordinary!

This group blog isn’t quite a “blog”. It is more of a chat site between the many members of it and seem to exclude individual thoughts and matters. It gets boring when they talk about “that one class today” or some other subject that outsiders would have no clue what they mean.

When I typed in the web address and hit the enter key, I received more than five script error messages. This is a major turn-off for those that read over six blogs a day. I was tempted to leave the site just after I had seen the script errors. I decided to wait for the images to load. This, I regret. It took over a minute for the images to load, and when they did, it wasn’t quite worth it. If a site takes more than 30 seconds to load, it gets annoying.

Another major “fault” with websites is that they have a space for an image, and it turns out to be an “x” because it either wasn’t coded the right way or the image doesn’t exist on the directory. When you cannot see half the layout, what is the point of the code? The layout is un-original and I have seen it on at least 50 other blogs or sites. Obviously, the creator doesn’t take risks with art or doesn’t know how.

As I surf blogs, I always look for archives so that I can look into past entries and other thoughts of the bloggers. I scanned the site three times, and did not succeed in locating one. While scanning the site for archives, I counted the use of emoticons and words with * these * around them on the front blog only. It totaled to 70! Seventy times of usage! It tends to get annoying and tiring.

To conclude, I must say this again. The site rating was based on everything. The design, bloggers, and the way they blog. The point of this review is for the public to see if they would like to visit this blog, and for the owners to see how they could revise it by others opinion.

This site is more of a collection of links than a personal weblog.

The author doesnt really mention herself very much.

Im not normally one for these types of blog but the links are actually quite intresting or amusing , however I would like to know more about the author.

The blog is updated regularly and more often than not there are a lot of links to go look at aswell.

My only real gripe is the template.

The sidebars are completly filled with links and although these too are good (of the ones Ive seen , there are a LOT ) , it just looks a bit dull.

An excellent blog with lots to keep you entertained and extra praise must go out to the author for linking all those sites. eclectica, a weblog

Well this is a review of the anti-weblog, so maybe I should call this the anti-review. First thing when I loaded the page I was completely taken aback by the ugliness that this site possess. Now I am not claiming to be a miracle site designer, but I know a good looking site when I see it.

So there are three little iframes in this page and the first one I see is the Anti-About. I read it, and don’t think too much of it, just some kid venting. Then comes the little warning at the very bottom of it explaining the site and what not. He says it looks good on 1024×768, but better on 1280×960. Who in their right mind designs a site for 1280×960? So I set my browser to it, and it didn’t look any better. Back to the little box. Requires IE 5.5+ Netscape 6, Opera 5 plus and if you are on a Mac well to quote him “FUCK YOU”.

So now that I am completely irritated by some kid that doesn’t seem to know what he is doing, I decide to read what he is writing about. Every day life of stuff that isn’t interesting, nor is it funny. The one thing that he does have going for him is that he does have a good writing ability, just isn’t putting it to use.

I don’t know if this site is supposed to just be a parody of the typical weblog or if it is supposed to be serious. I did not like the design nor the attitude that was portrayed and I really don’t suggest visiting unless you want to visit a site that looks bad.

First post I read was a poem that was very good. I wasn’t sure if this weblog was supposed to be of just poems (second post was also a poem) so I quickly headed over to the about me section.

I found out he has a lot in common with me. Computers are fun and what not, declaring a major is not a fun idea, and taking time off from school helped figure out what was going on.

Back to the weblog. Reading, reading, reading. Normal, general bs stuff you would typically get from a college student. After all in his about me he said it is kind of like a dot com keepsake so he can look back at it when he gets old and remember what it was like to be a college student again.

What I liked most about this site was the poetry that was written. There is something very interesting about a college guy posting about drinking with buddies, and then writting a poem. I reall enjoyed it.

The design of the site is very slick and clean. It does justice for the site. Enjoy this site for what it has, as it will be something to remember.Savingface

The first thing I look for on a site is the design. Is it easy to navigate, clean or cluttered, brassy or boring.

This site is clean and spare. I liked that part.

The next thing I look for is something “about me”, so that I can get a feel for the person writing the weblog. On this site the “about me” section was my favorite part. Lots of questions with some very funny answers.

After that I go to the weblog, reading as much as I have time to read or can stand. If I make it to the archives, I feel like I’m reading a good weblog. Darryl tells you in his description that the weblog is conversations…and he has a lot of conversations. I made it to the archives, all the way back to May 2001. Some of them are missing…perhaps a Blogger error.
