Stupid splash pages. I really don’t like them, especially when they have nothing to do with the site! Yeah it is a cute puppy and I wanted to hold it, but it is a splash page.

So I enter the page and the first thing I notice is that there are a lot of posts for each day. Some days more than others. She posts on a pretty consistent basis.

So I am reading the first page, and I read some more, and some more, and then I notice that I am at the beginning of July and my little scroll bar has moved only about a third of the way down. So I quickly scroll down and I see posts all the way back to March! Archives are a wonderful thing.

After reading the page, I check out the rest of the page. Bio is pretty good, except that she changes colors from the blog page to this page. Am I still at the same page? I don’t know, they look so much different. Go back to the main page as the only link on the bio was back to the blog and check out the links. No links, but they are coming soon. Finally I check out the pictures and I just get an index with pictures. Please people, download a program that will create thumbnails and index all the photos you want. I know they are out there, just find it.

This site had too many problems for me to fully enjoy. After fixing the problems, I would re-review the site as I know there is a good weblog underneath somewhere.

The first thing I noticed about the site was the design of it. The flames on the left were really cool. I get the idea that he wanted them to look like they came from some graphics program from back in the Atari days, as that is how it looks. If he didn’t, then he is a really bad artist or good depending on how you perceive art.

Get to the weblog portion and I had a hard time reading it. The entire thing read as if it was an instant message or something. I really hate it when people write things like thx or l8r because they are too lazy. What happens when you actually go to write a paper and you have to write the word thanks or later? Will the teacher appreciate the letter z substituted for the letter s? I doubt it.

So after all of the problems of translating I found a pretty good weblog to read. A freshman who is scared to go to college. Aren’t we all? Hopefully he gets on the net soon so he can start posting some more about his college life. Ah the freshman years, wish I could remember most of it, but I can’t (yes I did say years). Should be fun to re-live some of the events that freshmen go through if he gets back up and running.

For a site that has the name comedic.net I would hope it would be funny. Instead what I found was a lot of not so funny posts. There are multiple people who write for this site and I am guessing they all know each other. The reason I say this is because each of the posts are just as dumb as the other one. Some of the posts aren’t even jokes or anything of importance.

The design of the site looks like some kid who is still living back when a 14.4k modem was the best there was and there were bbs with sysops and if you had some program to download, your site was elite. The tag board is about 10 screens long and is just even more annoying.

Only if you have one of the following should you go to this site: A) a really bad sense of humor B) no life because you are a sysop for a bbs C) have an IQ less than a 2nd grader.

Here is a site devoted to the life of a married woman who has two kids. The younger of the two is about to turn one.

I found this site to be very useful to me. I don’t know why, I don’t have kids and I am not married, nor am I female. But I knew that someday, I would be going through the things she is currently going through (only I would be a father, not a mother for obvious reasons).

The majority of her posts are around her family. What she is doing, what they are doing, what they are doing together, that type of thing. Every now and then there is a review of a movie or something non-family related.

The extra features of the site I really enjoyed. I read her bio which was a little short, but that is ok. Then there is the list of strangers and a description of who they are. I found this section very useful as it made the weblog make more sense.

Overall a really good read and one that isn’t too hard to follow.

This is a pretty good site. Took me a second or two to see that the image at the top was an x-ray. Liked the layout; nice and simple. I clicked on the area where Tim has some other blogs linked and I saw he posted descriptions of the blogs with some additional information. I’d never seen anyone do this on a personal site and thought it was creative for him to do; it’s like a mini Weblog Review section.

Now the blog …Tim’s posts were fairly short with ideas, links to other sites or just funny observations:

Party Packed: 270 miles, a birthday party, 3 weddings, and a street dance. What a hell of a saturday. Today, I recover.

Good Deal? I just bought gas for $1.38.

The most important question of my life: What makes a better happy hour. Free tacos with ok drink prices or $.25 tacos with great drink prices?

I went to look at the archives and was given a list of posts to click on to read his bleeps. At first I didn’t like it, but then later I liked it because I got to scroll through the titles of his posts.

For the most part, I liked his site because of his creativity. It’s great to find a site where the person goes the extra mile to put out something a bit more original.Salted Wound
