The layout was simple yet and effective way of displaying the information he had to offer,he explains his choice of design as “An attempt at getting back to the old school web.”

However simple his desgin maybe , his does not mean his thoughts ideas and ramblings are simple,

each entry gives the impression it has been thought out and carefully sculpted into a thought provoking piece of writing, the author does well to capture his target audience, (although I’m younger, I still found it thought provoking but perhaps not in the way its intended.)

Overall an excellent insight into another persons llife .

This is a really fascinating blog devoted to computers and the internet. There’s a lot of detail contained within the posts, which is probably a good thing considering the author’s position within a website design and development firm (the blog is part of the firm’s site).

The site is well designed, with a good colour scheme and easily navigated links, and the layout itself is the good-old, tried and tested three column design: internal navigation – content – external links. Nothing spectacular, but certainly functional.

The blogs are long enough to contain true, rounded opinions as well as the story itself, and still short enough so as not to bore.

Another great feature of the posts here is that every one ends with a set of links to resources and related columns.

A site worth visiting if you carry an interest about the internet and technical issues.Brainstorms and Raves

Now this is something different. Each day’s post is a link to another blog site – and that’s all.

Really, blogoftheday is very similar to the weblog review, as it is focussed on getting good weblogs more traffic. The difference here is that the sites aren’t reviewed or indexed in any particular order, and no ratings are given. The only way to supply feedback about a site is through the “what you think” link associated with every blog.

It’s worth going here just to get a flavour of how many blogs there are out there.blogoftheday

Being greeted with a full page and a half of requirements to view the site and rules in which to follow once you’ve entered is a very bad first impression. Not to mention that those said rules and requirments have been written in a “like it or leave” fashion and are even more of a reason to just click the [X] button and move on to a more welcoming and friendly site.

If you can manage to read through the “welcoming” page and do happen to be able to view the interior site, it is very beautiful in design. The CSS and JS are wonderful, a true pleasure to look at. I would say well worth the rude greeting, but I would be lying.

The content of the posts, updated multiple times a day, seem for the most part to be nothing but negative. Not something the average reader would want to subject themselves to for fear of being severly depressed as an end result.NULL

I found the design hard on the eyes. White text on a black background if subjected to for a long period of time is sure to cause some sort of vision disturbance. The white sidebar distracted me from the actual posting area. Which, if I’m wrong I apologize, would be going against the general idea. Unless of course the intention is to direct attention to the links, which aid in the leaving of the weblog.

As for the actual content of the daily posts, I found some of them to be amusing, while others I had to skip over. (ie. tax return post) I especially liked reading his view/take/notice of the world news. With these differentiating topics his comment in the “about me,” area (“Even with all these labels, you still don’t know who I am.”) is proven true.

So in summary I would say I was neither impressed or unimpressed by this weblog. With a little work on the design, and maybe less posts about where he is and who he’s visiting, I would be a returning reader.stragedy.net
