Sector404 is the well designed site of ‘Phil’. Phil the man with an online wish list totalling $1,048.74US! Crazy. I dont even have a wish list. If I did, I would wish for an automatic weblog reviewing tool 😛
Content:
That aside, lets talk about the content of the site. I found that there is a lot of information here. Many, many, links and news related items. In fact he reminded me that I had missed my flight to the webby’s (happening tonight) where I was to collect the ‘weblog god of all time’ award. But I digress. He has an online gallery of photos, tons of good links and a discussion area. The site has a lot of content but none of it overwhelming or ‘deep’.
Design and Usability:
A great design. Simple as that. It allows for a ‘swaggle’ (my word and no you can’t use it!) of information to be displayed in a format that makes it easy to read and find. Not an easy task. Not at all. The navigation is good but not entirely intuitive. I went into the gallery and it took me a second to understand how the pictures were to be found (instinctively I clicked on the big picture that said “gallery”). Once in, I had a wee bit of trouble finding the home link. I did find it but not until all the methamphetamines wore off and I could calm down enough to actually LOOK for the word home. Speed junkies will not like this website!
Style:
I give some bonus points here for having a good choice of colors and style. It isnt an ‘artistic in your face style’ but a calmer organized-together style. I can respect that and you should too.
Myself, I dont really follow the news and/or the ‘link de jour’ if you will, so I didnt find a lot of content that got me excited. I prefer to read about the persons thoughts and feelings. I do keep several sites in my bookmarks that I know are good sources of links and I think I might just add this site to that list. Take a look for yourself, what do you think about Sector404?sector404.org

What can be said about David Gagne that you havent already read on the bathroom walls in a seedy strip bar?
Wait, were not talking about Dave here we’re talking about his website 😛
Layout Design & Usability:
davidgagne.net is clean and simple. Using some fancy css to make his site tableless (tho it looks like there are tables, magic!). The navigation is straight forward and its hard to get lost even if you’re trying. Which, for the record I tried.
The biggest problem I had with it is that he uses black for the links and blue for the text. I kept finding myself clicking on the blue (traditionally for links) and reading the black parts separately. Im assuming he did this deliberately to see if I was paying attention (all for ruzzman!).
Content:
The content is varied and deep. You could spend hours reading papers (from his philosophy classes) to poetry, to.. well you get the idea. There is also a lot of pictures for you voyuers out there. He also has a section for the song of the moment, complete with the song available for download. I would have completed this review sooner but I needed to send an email to metallica telling them hes doing more business than napster did!
A good site. Varied content throughout the site and the blog mixes news/links and personal commentary together in a way that keeps his blog fresh and entertaining.
Check this site out, you should be glad you did (and ignore what you read in the bathrooms, David Gagne did not shoot Gandhi!)bling

No this is not the author of this site. It is however his goal to look like this. Or is it not like this…
Just like that picture above, the site is extremely entertaining. I really enjoyed all the posts and found some very humors posts inside.
Also there are video game reviews on this guys site. Maybe he should hook up with The OG Dojo and write some reviews for them. And by the looks of things, there should be some music and movie reviews coming to the site also.
Great site with lots of good stuff to read.mediaPOLLUTION

What was I to think when I saw the name was hornygoat. Is this some porn site about goats or what? No it isn’t. Its just a semi-group weblog (I say semi because erich posts the most, but there are other inserts). Really good site.
Nothing major or flashy with this site either. Which is kinda cool since he is a cs major. He did however program a webstats program that you can download and use for your site. Really cool stuff.
Interesting posts kept me reading. Everything was covered about computers and music that I could ever want to know. Kinda cool how much of it relates to other cs people out there.hornygoat

Interesting was the first thing that popped into my head when I got to this site. It didn’t look like any of the other weblogs out there, and it didn’t read like any of them. It was different. No not bad different.
The posts were about things that no one (that I have read) has posted it about. Sure you got your computer problem posts and your party posts, but seriously who just posts random song lyrics or stories of a guy on a bike wearing a real wolf pelt? Dr Tongue does.
This is a site I would check out on a daily basis for the fact that it is so different than any others that I tend to read. You would get a quote from this site and post it on yours, or just retell a story on it to one of your friends. Check it out.The Doctor’s SoapBox
