Asian Bastard: humourous, snide and a bit bizarre. Should be worth a visit then.

Design wise there aren’t any problems with the site; he’s gone for the safe route of a three column layout with a long list of links down the right and some fancy sushi-inspired buttons on the left for navigation.

The content is rich and engaging, and he displays a quirky sense of humour that I’m sure most people will enjoy. A lot of the posts are similar to whatever else is doing the rounds on the blog scene, but what original stuff there is is often interesting.

Also provided with every post is the “confessional”, where readers are invited to leave their own comments.Asianbastard

4 Shades of Gray is a weblog devoted almost entirely to the Gameboy, and more specifically Gameboy camera photos. There are a lot of posts about this and other computer related stories, and they are very interesting.

This is a lot like a fansite-meets-blog. There is enough content here to consider it a personal blog, but the overriding concern of the writer is the gameboy, which is no bad thing. There aren’t many well-written sites out there that tell the stories behind using the Gameboy as a camera.

Even if you aren’t a particular fan of handheld gaming, there’s still enough here to warrant a visit.4 shades of gray

Loser Corp is a collection of webloggers, all of whom seem to post regularly and with humour.

Rather than the occasional one line entry indicative of a half-hearted blog, loser corp posts are generally entertaining and often include scanned images, chat room transcripts, and screenshots.

There are three webcams, a whole series of links and offtopic materials. All in all, there is a lot of stuff here, and the majority is highly readable, and from time to time borders on the poetic (like when Tom posted a poem he had written).

Go here. See this site. Be amused as the group engage in sleep deprivation experiments and post as they do so.Losercorp.net – Social Parasites

Novocaine is mostly made up of links and references to external documents, but proves mildly distracting nonetheless.

Design-wise, the site is clean and effective. It isn’t often that you come across a circa 1996 textured background, and thank goodness he didn’t put text over it. The surprise: it works very well. The end result is a smart, easily navigable website.

It is more adult in tone than the majority of the sites I’ve reviewed, and if you want some more “mature” commentary (and links) then this is the place to come. You can also see the alternative Angelina Jolie background the page used to have, if you dig deep enough.

Get your phreek on? Or not? Well, that depends on your tastes, and this site is the Dr Pepper of blogs. Still, what’s the worst that can happen?

First of all, the badness. The text is quite small, and will put off all but the most optically blessed, and there is very little spacing between lines. The front page is very busy (maybe too busy), and it looks like too much has been packed in. I had a lot of trouble accessing deeper into the site; most of the links to the left were 404s, but that could have been a problem with the server.

Now, the goodness. Despite all I have said above, I still enjoyed this blog. I’m not exactly the target audience (ie I am not a skateboarder, and I am not a teenager), but the posts were still interesting enough for me to read, and were at times humourous and far from mundane.
