I was immediately impressed with Busy Moms. Not only is the design spare and professional, the content is useful too. Ideas for Father’s Day gifts, recipes, and other advice on everything from soup to nuts.

The site describes itself accurately:

Busy Moms Online came about from my desire to help other moms who are as stressed as I find myself all the time. Many times we could use some information right now, but it’s so hard to find what we are looking for. Here you will find information on just about anything a mom could need: from parenting tips, to beauty tricks, to money matters, and more.

It does look like this site was designed to promote the book The Single Mom’s Survival Guide, but the ebook is reasonably priced and looks worthwhile. If you’re a mom, this site is definitely worth a look.Busy Moms Online

I really like finding a blogger that isn’t afraid to post his name and geographic location. So often the blogger is anonymous and doesn’t even post an email. Mark has a distinctive voice, and I wish his posts were less sporadic. He writes a bit about politics and the weather from a Brit perspective.

It was nice to click on the complete profile and find out a little more about him, and know there are 68 posts and a website. The photo included in the bio was helpful, it really helps you get a sense of who the person is.

I wasn’t crazy about the colors, on my machine they looked like rust and dark khaki. The black text was difficult to read. I appreciated the layout with ample white space and photos.

All the above said, this is a unique website that is worth a visit if you are interested in the British every day perspective.Bertha the Earthtruck

I thought from the title of the blog the writings might be more spiritual in nature. So I was surprised when the blog was a Malaysian female writing about heat and loneliness. It seemed a mismatch. I was also immediately put off by mispelled words. On the plus side, it’s visually attractive. The blue background really carries the idea this is to be a spiritual website and the sea scene in the header works. It really helps carry the idea of peacefulness. Unfortunately the content doesn’t carry the focus. There is spiritual content, but it’s thin.

The authors voice stands out. It is not an angry voice, but an every day whiney tone. I understand she is having a hard time in her life, and a blog is a way to express her feelings. IMO, the reader must also be considered.

All the above said, this is a unique website that is worth a visit if you are feeling depressed and want to know you are not alone.Messy Christian

My first thoughts before I clicked the link for this blog was, oh no, a Christian blog. Let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised that this blog isn’t your average Christian blog. It’s thoughtful & most of all, has a point of view from which not many Christian blogs come from. After the blog did load, the template, I believe, suits the blog with the blue’s and white background on grey writing.

Messy Christian is definitely a blog that is worth having a look at, just because the author’s views are current, her writing style is well written and easy to read. The posts are well thought out, and many an entry is regarding her own personal journey down the road of being a Christian. It’s very thoughtfully written. I didn’t personally come across any particular errors on the weblog itself, the archives are easily found and navigated, the links are all working.

If you look hard enough you will find her “coming out” post, where she outs herself from being anonymous, photo included, to her readers. There is a brief about section as well as a 50 things section. I believe that the author has put together a blog that targets interest, even if you aren’t Christian. So well done!

I gave this blog a 4 because of the content, the written style as well as the fact that the entries are thought provoking and interesting. Definitely a must read.Messy Christian

Bertha the Earthtruck, the title of this blog doesn’t give much away. Once loaded though, the template is nice and simple, the links are not scattered all about and are easy to find. The archives are easy to navigate.

Mark Gammon is a writer, he has a link to his book in his links section, and he also has a website as well. Mark writes about issues that he finds to be frustrating as well as amusing to himself. Things from UK politics, to American politics to his thoughts on war and different bills being passed through government.

I didn’t find any errors with any of the links, they all work and are easily identifiable from first glance. The layout of the blog is easy on the eyes, which is a good thing. There are photo’s included in the newer entries, although Mark hasn’t updated since Feb this year. Going through his archives gives you a glimpse into who Mark really is. I am not sure why this is listed as a creative writing blog as I think it should be in the personal category as there isn’t anything really that relates to creative writing, unless you look at his book link.

Overall, I found Mark’s blog somewhat interesting. His views, as most bloggers, are put across very well. His writing style is easy to read and the links in his entry’s all work. I, personally, wouldn’t really re-visit this blog. Then again, my blogging tastes do tend to go along the witty dry humour route.
